Radio Testing
Radio Testing, RF Transmitter Approval, Wireless Certification, WIFI, WLAN & Bluetooth Compliance
Low power radio systems are being used in an increasing number of applications around the home and in industry.
In Australia low power RF transmitters used for short range applications are categorised by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) as Low Interference Potential Devices (LIPD’s), as they are considered to pose a low risk of interference to other RF communications devices.
Common examples of radio transmitters include:
- Wireless alarm components, CCTV cameras and microphones
- Wireless local area networks (LAN)
- Remote key fobs
- Bluetooth communications
Common standards for low power radio transmitters:
Australia: | AS/NZS 4268 |
New Zealand: | RFS29 |
USA: | FCC Part 15 Subpart C |
Europe: | (R&TTE Directive) ETSI EN 300 220, ETSI EN 300 328 & ETSI EN 301 489 |
Radio standards detail frequency bands and radiated RF power limits (ERP / EIRP) along with other technical requirements applicable to the transmitter, which can vary depending on the destination country.
Compliance Engineering is able to provide low power radio compliance testing services to meet your requirements. We also offer a preliminary EMC measurements service, where investigations and modifications can be trialled. Experienced staff are on hand to assist with your investigations and a wide range of EMC suppression components are available for use.
